Feminist Theory

There are several different feminist theories that we have learned about in class, we have viewed moving image texts which support certain feminist theories and these have helped us to better understand the ideas behind the feminism movements. 

By looking at and learning the different feminist theories we are able to know how to apply them to pieces of media, by doing this we therefore can understand media better and be able to connect with the underlying messages the creators of the media had. We also can apply this knowledge to our work and therefore make it more successful at conveying messages; we will probably apply the rules of Third Wave/Post Feminism to our product.  

There will be no males appearing in our production therefore it becomes more difficult to display the feminist theory, we will be incorporating it in another way however. In all products both of us will be playing the roles of cameraperson and journalist, a cameraperson is stereotypically a man and therefore our product will challenge the stereotypes in this way, also some may think of journalists typically being male although nowadays there are many female journalists. We will not be emphasising the fact that we have these roles but embracing them and putting unique feminine touches to the production therefore our products will most likely be Third Wave/Post Feminism.
